Oven & Cooktop Installation

Oven & Cooktop Installation

Kitchen appliances are one of the highest-load circuits in a home. An induction cooktop can pull more than 7kW, which is why they need a dedicated, correctly sized circuit — not a plug into the nearest outlet.

We install wall ovens, freestanding electric cookers, ceramic and induction cooktops, and upgrade the circuit and switchboard where the existing supply won't carry the load.

What's included

  • Wall oven installation and replacement
  • Induction and ceramic cooktop installation
  • Freestanding electric cooker connection
  • New dedicated appliance circuits
  • Isolation switch installation
  • Hard-wiring and appliance testing
  • Switchboard upgrade where required
  • Removal of the old appliance

Call us when

  • Your new cooktop needs more amps than the old one
  • The oven circuit trips under load
  • There's no isolation switch for the appliance
  • You're renovating the kitchen
  • The appliance connection is scorched

How it works

  1. 1

    Check the supply

We confirm the existing circuit rating against the appliance specification.

  2. 2

    Install and connect

Appliance fitted, hard-wired and isolated correctly.

  3. 3

    Test

Load tested and certified, with the old unit removed if you'd like.

What it costs

Straight like-for-like replacements are a fixed price. A new dedicated circuit from the board is quoted separately based on the cable run.

Licensing & compliance

Fixed appliances are connected to AS/NZS 3000 with the isolation required by the manufacturer's instructions and a compliance certificate issued.

Questions

Oven & Cooktop Installation — common questions

Most need hard-wiring on a dedicated circuit. Only small, low-output units come with a plug.

Do you install appliances bought from a retailer?

Yes — we install customer-supplied appliances from any brand.

Will my switchboard handle induction?

Older boards often need an upgrade or a new circuit. We check before quoting so there are no surprises on the day.
