Swapping tired halogens for modern LEDs cuts lighting energy use by around 80%, removes a genuine roof-space fire risk, and completely changes how a room feels. Done well, it's a lighting design job — not just a fitting swap.

We plan beam spread and spacing properly so you don't end up with the airport-runway look, and we use dimmable tri-colour fittings so you can set warm light in the living areas and cool white in the kitchen and laundry.

What it costs

Straight changeovers are priced per light with a discount for volume. New positions cost more because they involve new cabling and ceiling access. Fixed price quoted before we start.

Licensing & compliance

Fittings installed with correct clearances to insulation and installed to AS/NZS 3000. Old halogen transformers are removed, not left live in the roof.

Can you install downlights without damaging my ceiling?

In most homes yes — we cut from below with a hole saw and dust extraction, and existing holes are usually reused on changeovers.

What colour temperature should I choose?

3000K warm white for living and bedrooms, 4000K for kitchens, bathrooms and laundries. Tri-colour fittings let you decide on the day.

Why do my LEDs flicker on the dimmer?

The dimmer is almost certainly a leading-edge type left over from halogens. We replace it with a trailing-edge dimmer matched to the LEDs.
