Pumps & Bore Pumps

Pump & Bore Pump Installation and Repairs

From a garden bore keeping a Wandi lawn green through summer to a pressure pump feeding a rural Piara Waters property, a pump is only reliable if the electrical side is done right — a correctly sized dedicated circuit, proper isolation, and protection that stops a seized pump from taking out the whole board.

We install, wire and fault-find submersible bore pumps, surface pressure pumps, transfer pumps and pump controllers across the southern suburbs, and we know the local bore setups common in Banjup, Treeby and the semi-rural blocks around Jandakot.

What's included

  • Submersible bore pump installation and wiring
  • Surface pressure and transfer pump installation
  • Dedicated pump circuit and isolator
  • Pump controller and float switch wiring
  • Fault finding on pumps that have stopped or trip the breaker
  • Switchboard and RCD protection for pump circuits
  • Reticulation controller and solenoid wiring
  • Replacement of failed pump electrical connections

Signs your pump needs an electrician

  • The pump trips the safety switch when it starts
  • Reticulation has no pressure or the bore won't prime
  • The pump hums but doesn't run, or runs but pumps nothing
  • A new pump needs a dedicated circuit and isolator
  • The old pump circuit keeps blowing fuses

How it works

  1. 1

    Diagnose

We test the pump, the circuit and the controller to find whether it's electrical, mechanical or both.

  2. 2

    Wire it right

A dedicated, RCD-protected circuit sized to the pump with an isolator at the unit and a tidy, weatherproof connection.

  3. 3

    Test and commission

We run the pump through its cycles, check pressure and flow, and certify the electrical work.

What it costs

Quoted per job based on pump size, cable run, whether a new circuit is needed and site access. Fault-finding is charged at a callout rate, with any repairs quoted before we proceed.

Licensing & compliance

Pump circuits installed to AS/NZS 3000 with appropriate RCD protection, isolation and weatherproofing for outdoor and wet-area equipment.

Questions

Pumps & Bore Pumps — common questions

Do you install the pump or just the electrical?

We handle the full installation — pump, pipework and electrical — for bore and pressure pumps, plus fault-finding and rewiring on existing setups. For specialised irrigation design we'll work with your retic supplier.

Why does my bore pump trip the safety switch?

Usually moisture in the cable joint, a worn pump seal letting water into the motor, or a fault in the float switch. We test the circuit and pump to find the cause before replacing anything.

Does a bore pump need its own circuit?

Yes — bore and pressure pumps draw a strong start current and should be on a dedicated RCD-protected circuit with an isolator, not shared with power points or lighting.
